Once again...our weekend was very busy...what with hair appointments, bill paying, grocery shopping and housecleaning. We did manage to squeeze in a little family time, the hubby, Maxter and me.....we went to Indiana Beach for the evening (we live about 45 minutes away)..so, it is a nice little drive. We like to go late in the evening, so that all the rides and the boardwalk are lit up....we got there around 8:15 p.m...the park closes at 10 p.m....but, we figured that would be plenty of time to walk around, let Max ride a few rides, have dinner and head home.
Unfortunately, the park has been sold....The Spackman family has owned the property/park for well over sixty years. Saturday night, we found out they had sold it, to some "RV" company....it was no longer in the hands of the original Mr. Spackman's children...how sad. It was passed down from one generation to another and now it is in the hands of a new company, that have no qualms about changing all the rules. The rules that pertain to ticket purchases that is....in the past, you could pay just the gate entrance, $2.50 per person and then upon entering the park, you could buy the ride pass or you could purchase individual ride tickets....which, when you are only coming into the park for a couple hours, like us...and you have a child that can't ride the majority of the rides, due to hieght and age restrictions, we choose to just pay per ride for Max....Saturday night, we were told we had to purchase a full ride pass to allow him to ride a few kiddie rides. We were very upset about this change...and little ol' loud mouth here made sure to make that known to the attendant....Hubster refused to buy a bracelet for Max based on the short amount of time we were going to be there. Poor little Max...he was so upset, didn't fully understand why, but since we were there...we went into the park...walked around, with the intention of letting him see the sights and maybe get some ice cream...play a few carnival games, then go home.
As we were walking through the park, we noticed that the Schaffer Queen, the parks boat ride, was buy tickets for the boat ride only, Max could ride for free....so, that is what we did...took a boat ride, around the lake....it was kind of relaxing....here are some photos from our little excursion...
Max, after we boarded...he was already telling me how boring it was!
Max and me....please ignore the bad hair....I just got it cut earlier in the day...the stylists didn't do too kene of a job styling it...always looks better after I do it....
Me, after hubby told me to strike a pose....
Maxter and the hubster....talk about laid back!
View of the park from the boat.....
Well, now you have seen a clearer picture of Dixie and part of her little family....(please don't make fun of my hair)....seriously, ya'll....I was having major hair trauma that day.....tell me how many of you ladies can ever leave the salon and be happy with how they style you? MMmmmm??
