HAVE YA MISSED ME?????

Wow....I can't believe I have not posted in three whole days...Guess the only excuse I have is that I have just been in kind of a funk, nothing of any real importance or interest to say.
I have not even touched the computer, from my last post until now. But, I figured I better get up off my lazy rear end, post something, before you all forget about me, remove me from your blog rolls, etc....lol.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas...as for me, other than my trip being cancelled, we did have a good Christmas. It was nice to have all four of my boys together. If it was only for one day. Then they all went their seperate ways....even the two little ones.

The hubster and I have had the entire week to ourselves. Saturday, he took the two oldest back to Terre Haute...Tim has his own life, so to speak....with his job, girlfriend and friends...so, getting one day of his time is a miracle...to say the least...Justin was disappointed not to go to SC, but that was rectified when his Dad offered to take him on a hunting trip to Iowa..they are leaving today for that.
Aaron was taken to his dad's on Sunday, for two whole weeks. I hate letting him go to his father's for that long...when he comes home, it takes me a week to get the man's imprint off of him. I won't get started on that....but that is definitely a story for another time.

Max went to hubsters Mom and Dad's for the week....they live out on this lake...beautiful property...they are great grandparents....he just loves to visit them. He has been there since Sunday as well...I am ready for him to come home...I miss the little guy. I seriously have felt at a total loss all week....the hubster and I have been so lazy....sleeping in, piddling around the house...then dressing and going into town for dinner every night. Boring, boring, boring....at first, the no kids thing was nice...now, I need for them to come home...I seriously don't know what to do with myself.

The hubster is taking me out tonight.....we are going to a club we are members of, hang out with some friends, have a few drinks, dinner, etc...maybe even do a little dancing.

Then tomorrow...we pick up Max, have hubster's Grandmother's Christmas party....she is over 90 years old, every year, has a huge Christmas dinner/party at ST. Annes church, for all of her children, grand and great grandchildren......I look forward to seeing Max after being away from him this past week.

Well..since I have bored you enough...I am going to get off here....fix some coffee....watch a little of Last seasons Lost....

Have a good weekend!

MAYBE IT WAS FOR THE BEST....THERE IS A REASON FOR EVERYTHING, I GUESS...MAYBE IT JUST WASN'T MEANT TO BE....

Going on Christmas Vacation......

MySpaceGraphicsandAnimations.org

Christmas Graphics provided by MySpaceGraphicsandAnimations.org

Wow..2 whole days without posting....I am surprised I am not having withdrawals...lol....I have just been so busy the last two days, I am about to drop...but, I wanted to take a minute to update everyone to what was going on around the Old Dixie homestead....
I traveled all day yesterday......took me five hours round trip to pick up Tim and Justin..I got railroaded 4 times on the trip...three times going, once coming home...anyone that knows me, knows how ticked off I get when I get railroaded...I had promised the boys I would be at there schools to check them out around twelve-thirty...but it was one p.m. by the time I got to Terre Haute. Checking Tim, seventeen year old, out of school..was a freaking nightmare...It was like trying to break someone out of San Quentin...when you walk in the door, you are greeted by a deputy sheriff, who proceeds to check you in, gives you a pass, then leads you down two long hallways, to the "attendance" office....in there, you have clueless blonde, too busy stuffing her mouth with cookies, to help a mother get her kid out...Tim was supposed to have brought a note, from his Dad, saying that I was picking him up, but of course he forgot it..second problem.....I wasn't listed in the computer as "his mother" or significant person authorized to get him out....just his Dad, his Stepmom and his freaking stepmom's Dad...WTF??? I was pissed! In between bites of cookie, she mumbled, well...that is a problem....we just can't release him to anyone..I was like Whoa...hold it there blondie..I am his mother..he is 17 years old...I think he would know whether he was supposed to go with me or not....I told her to put the cookie down, pick the phone up and call his dad at his work, he would verify it.....then she goes, well we have "yadayadayada" has your work name and the phone number is yadayadayada....I told her yeah, cause that is my work place and number....that it wasn't my fault some degenerate piece of crap data entry operator left my name of the list....at this point, I was steaming...while this was going on, the entire high school was proceeding to the auditorium for an assembly...then she goes, Well....I guess I can release him to you, but they are now in assembly, so you will have to wait until it is over to get him...I go, "LIKE HELL"...you will get him for me now! That is when my head turned around and spewed green vomit on her...Get this..this school as a resident detective, from the police force, with his own office....I was stunned, this cop walks in, asks if he can be of help, I tell him what is going on..he was super nice, told me he would take me to the assembly, help me find Tim....the assembly is dark and there are some kids up on stage, dressed in red, singing Christmas songs...I had to walk up and down the dark aisles of the auditorium..looking through a sea of pimply faced, hormonal teenagers, looking for my son...I finally found him, with a lot of weird looks, grins, etc....on the other, far side of the auditorium...It took me thirty minutes to get him out of school....
Justin's pick up went a little smoother....although when I got to his school..they were having a fire drill....took me about fifteen minutes to bust him out...had to take them home...get overnight bags, take Tim to pick up his check, the list goes on and on....

My Christmas Party for work last night was fun....karaoke was fun...I sang, or attempted to sing, three songs......I embibed way too much wine....therefore I suffered greatly all day long today..there are pictures..I think I embarrassed myself on more than one occasion...but all in all, it was nice to kick back, have some drinks/dinner and have some fun after my stressful day....

Today....I celebrated Christmas with my lovely family...cooked a huge meal.....everyone got what they wanted.....(except for me...nope, no camera), ate a lot and hubster is taking the older two boys back to their dad's as I type....they are having their Christmas with him and his immediate family, step children, new wife, etc....tonight.
Tomorrow morning, we are leaving for South Carolina, driving....oh joy...usually takes 15 hours are so....WE are dropping Aaron off at his loser fathers house for Christmas, and Max is going to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a week...we are picking Justin, 14 year old, back up and he is going to go with us down South...
I am so excited to see my Mom and brother...I have not spent Christmas with them in 10 years....

So...I will be absent for about a week....don't miss me too much...um...ok..go ahead and miss me...tell me how forlorn you are without me...etc....I hopefully will be able to check in with all of you from my brothers house when I am down there....

I have to get off here...Aaron's room is a disaster....it looks as if a tornado ripped through it...If I don't help him clean it...he will just shove crap into his closet or under his bed..then I have to pack...

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and the happiest of Holidays!

Check out The Fruitcake Lady...If you have never heard of her...you are in for a laugh or two!

The Ugliest Christmas Sweater and Office Staff Photo....all rolled into one!

I was surfing around the web, while thinking of writing a post about Christmas sweaters...you know the really ugly ones....and the fact that our office Christmas party is tomorrow night...and I am just thinking of how many of our office staff, two guys in particular, might show up in the dreaded holiday Christmas sweater...you know, the ones you find in the bargain bin at Wal-mart or the ones that were bought like 20 years ago, when people actually willingly wore those things...I shudder now, because I too had one...Halloween one too....oh, My God...I would not be caught dead in one now....how far I have come...

This is what I will be wearing....with jeans and heels....

The rest of our staff....not so sure...I will probably be the only normal one there, aside from the managers...maybe one other young chick that works here...anyway....While surfing for those ugly holiday sweaters, that I anticipated some of them wearing....I found this...

Doesn't that freaking crack you up? Bwooohhhaaaaaahhhhaaaaa!!!!!
Too funny!

GOOD THING WE LIVE IN INDIANA.......

Santa's Replacement: Bubba Claus
----- MEMO -----
To: Southern USA Residents From: Santa RE: Replacement Santa

I regret to inform you that effective immediately, I will no longer be able to serve the Southern United States on Christmas Eve. Due to overwhelming current population of the earth, my contract was renegotiated by North American Fairies and Elves Local 209. I now serve only certain areas of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan. As part of the new and better contract I also get longer breaks for milk and cookies so keep that in mind. However, I'm certain that your children will be in good hands with your local replacement who happens to be my third cousin, Bubba Claus. His side of the family in from the South pole. He shares my goal of delivering toys to all the good boys and girls; however, there are a few differences between us. Differences such as: 1. There is no danger of a Grinch stealing your presents from Bubba Claus. He has a gun rack on his sleigh and a bumper sticker that reads: "These toys insured by Smith & Wesson."

2. Instead of milk and cookies, Bubba Claus prefers that children leave a RC Cola and pork rinds (or a moon pie) on the fireplace. And Bubba doesn't smoke a pipe. He dips a little snuff though, so please have an empty spit can handy.

3. Bubba Claus' sleigh is pulled by floppy-eared, flyin' coon dogs instead of reindeer. I made the mistake of loaning him a couple of my reindeer one time, and Blitzen's head now overlooks Bubba's fireplace.

4. You won't hear "On Comet, on Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen..." when Bubba Claus arrives. Instead you'll hear, "On Earnhardt, on Wallace, on Martin and LaBonte. On Rudd, on Jarrett, on Elliot and Petty."

5. "Ho, ho, ho!" has been replaced by "Yee Haw!" And you also are likely to hear Bubba's elves reply, "I her'd dat!"

6. As required by Southern highway laws, Bubba Claus' sleigh does have a Yosemite Sam safety triangle on the back with the words, "Back Off!" The last I heard it also had other decorations on the sleigh back as well. One is Ford or Chevy logo with lights that race through the letters and the other is a caricature of me (Santa Claus) peeing on the Tooth Fairy.

7. The usual Christmas movie classics such as "Miracle on 34th Street" and "It's a Wonderful Life" will not be shown in your negotiated viewing area. Instead, you will see "Boss Hogg Saves Christmas" and "Smokey and the Bandit IV" featuring Burt Reynolds as Bubba Claus and dozens of State Patrol cars crashing into each other.

8. Bubba Claus doesn't wear a belt. If I were you, I'd make sure you, the wife, and the kids turn the other way when he bends over to put presents under the tree.

9. And finally, lovely Christmas songs have been sung about me like "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" and Bing Crosby's "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town". This year, songs about Bubba Claus will be played on all the AM radio stations in the South. These song titles will be Mark Chesnutt's "Bubba Claus shot the jukebox"; Cledus T. Judd's, "All I want for Christmas is my Woman and a Six-opack", and Hank Williams Jr's "If You Don't Like Bubba Claus, You Shove It."

Sincerely Yours, Santa Claus(Member of North American Fairies and Elves Local 209)

Snowman making mission failed........

Snow was too powdery for a snowman today...so we opted to make a treat from my childhood...
Remember those days of snow angels, snow men and snow ice cream? Mom or dad would get a bowl of fresh fallen snow and make that delicious seasonal treat we loved! As many of you are in areas getting snowfall I thought I'd share a few snow ice cream recipes and ideas. Let's go back to the "good old days" and make some memories (and a sweet treat too).

NOTE: Always make sure you've had snow falling a while before you collect snow for ice cream so you know it will be clean and free from contaminates.

You can experiment with other extracts like almond, mint and other flavors.
Or you can use orange, lime or lemon extracts for a "sherbet".
To make ice cream even creamier add 1/2 of a mashed banana or mashed mango or other fruit you enjoy for another way to flavor this delicious concoction.

It is recommended that pregnant women, elderly and small children avoid raw eggs so I've included a recipe that does not include eggs in it as well. I hope you enjoy these.

Snow Ice Cream Recipe #1

Ingredients:

1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cream
2 eggs
2 tsps vanilla
Pinch of salt

Place the above ingredients in a large bowl.
Mix with an electric mixer. Add fresh snow..approx 5 - 6 cups and mix in to blended mixture.
Eat immediately.

Snow Ice Cream Recipe #2

1 c. Half & Half
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
dash of salt
5 c. of fresh, clean snow

Combine all ingredients and enjoy!!

Snow Ice Cream Recipe #3

1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 gallon fresh clean snow

In a large bowl mix first four ingredients until smooth.
Gradually stir in snow until desired consistency.
Enjoy!

Snow Ice Cream Recipe #4

1 gallon snow
1 c. white sugar
1 TBSP vanilla extract
2 c. milk

Get a large bowl of fresh clean snow and stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then add just enough milk until it is the desired consistency.
Enjoy. You can add variations to the mixture when you are done, like oreos, chocolate chips, bananas, berries...etc...

Wonder if I could get the snowman built this way...

or make a little extra money! Lol....

(I just thought it was funny!)

SNOWED IN.....

(This isn't my back yard...just an image I found...since I still don't have a camera...which sucks...hopefully Santa will bring me one...since I have been a very good girl this year...lol...)

Anyway, the above picture, is similar to what it looks like outside my back door....they said 8-10 inches....not sure how much we did get...it has kind of tapered off now...hope it has totally stopped...kids are driving me nuts, wanting to go out, build a snowman...um, yeah....I still feel like I have been run over by a snow plow..kidney stone has become a subject of murderous thoughts in my mind...hopefully, it will pass soon...darvocet and I have become close friends....lol...anyway, thanks for all the well wishes everyone...I am hoping I can get rid of this annoying thing soon....

I am going to make some coffee, peruse all of your blogs..later, maybe I will feel up to helping the little ones build that snowman...

Have a great Sunday everyone!

This Is Where I have been all day...

Just in case any of you were wondering, why there was no Friday funny, well...it's because I was here.....not for one of the kids, not for hubster...but for me.....

I won't bore you with all of the details...just me + lots of pain all night long+ very expensive visit to emergency room= diagnosis of kidney stones and sent home to "wait it out" until they decide they want to vacate the premises...

I am in a lot of pain...I am very tired....just wanted all of you....that stopped by for your Dixie fix, and to find...no Dixie....to know what was going on....

Thirteen hilarious stocking stuffers......

Stocking Stuffers....(noun)...those fun and witty little extras that make you go "wheeeee", jump around like a loon, dance a jig, or just bring a huge smile to your face!!!!

1.) The Pocket Get Off the Phone Excuse Machine

http://www.stupid.com/stat/PHXC.html
Nothing says aggravating quite like an annoying phone call you just can’t get away from. The Pocket Get Off the Phone Excuse Machine eliminates that problem once and for all. From a baby crying to a car crashing, you’ll never be without an excuse to get off of the dreaded phone call again!

2.) #9 -- Whoopie Cushions, http://www.centurynovelty.com/detail_71_163-323.html

People are longing for nostalgia, and simple items like whoopie cushions and hand buzzers are selling like hotcakes. If you want to bring a smile to someone’s face, give them a Whoopie cushion as a stocking stuffer. It’ll be a source of amusement all day long.

3.) The Stella Awards, http://www.stellaawards.com/

If you and your friends are the type to get annoyed when someone abuses the civil court system, you’re going to love the Stella Awards by Randy Cassingham. This book makes a great stocking stuffer and highlights the most bizarre of civil lawsuits in a hilarious and entertaining manner. The only thing that’s not funny about this book is that the crazy cases that are highlighted are true!

4.) Half-Eaten Cookies, http://www.wonderfullywacky.com/oncebittencookie.htm

Getting cookies in your stocking is probably OK, but imagine getting cookies that already have a bite taken out of them! This hilarious cookie cutter will have your friends wondering what you were thinking when you give them cookies that aren’t all there.

5.) The Do-It-Yourself Stocking Stuffer
This stocking stuffer is best for couch potatoes. It's called the "Home Exerciser." Making it is simple. Just take a block of wood and make a sign that you glue onto the wood. The sign says:

Home Exerciser
1. Place the Home Exerciser in the middle of the floor.
2. Walk around the Home Exerciser three times.
3. Take a well deserved break: you've walked around the block three whole times.

6.) "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" , http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&keywords=Santa%20Claus%20Conquers%20the%20Martians&search-type=ss&index=dvd

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians has the honor of being perhaps the worst holiday movie ever made. It not only has a stupid plot, bad acting and ridiculous special effects, but the title alone could qualify it as a really bad movie. But, it's now available on DVD, and it's SO bad that there will be a lot of laughs.

7.) Bobble Heads, http://www.toylounge.com/famguystewbo.html,

Bobble heads also make great stocking stuffers. Figurines with little bodies and big heads that bobble around just seem to make people smile. They’re becoming increasingly popular and are being collected by the young and old alike. From sports to pets, bobble heads are everywhere and the humorous ones always bring a smile to the recipient’s face.

8.) Tiki Tissue Box Holder , http://www.travelersshoppes.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=854

This is surely not your ordinary tissue box holder! Whenever someone needs a tissue, they have to pull it from the tiki’s nose. This tiki tissue box holder is sure to bring laughs not just on Christmas morning, but the whole year through.

9.) Funny Face Pacifiers , http://www.prankplace.com/teeth.htm?KBID=1247
If you have a baby on your shopping list, these funny face pacifiers make one hilarious stocking stuffer. Unfortunately baby will be too young to benefit from the humor of it, but the adults will be laughing the whole day through.

10.) Snowman Poop, http://www.kidsturncentral.com/holidays/christmas/ccrafts2.htm

Know someone who was naughty this year? Forget about coal in the stocking -- give them a baggie full of snowman poop instead. A little baggie filled with miniature white marshmallows and a cute little note saying that your naughty friend is getting nothing but snowman poop for Christmas will bring on serious bouts of laughter from all around.

11.) NINJA BANDAGES, http://www.perpetualkid.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1720

Treat your minor cuts, scrapes and scratches with the incredible healing power of Ninja bandages

12.) USB CHRISTMAS COMPUTER KIT, http://www.perpetualkid.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2341

Show your Christmas spirit at work. Tired of the same old boring cubical? Need a little injection of fl-la-la-la-la-la at work? Our string of colorful USB powered Christmas lights, a festive mouse pad and a Christmas party hat will do the job!

13.)And of course, last but not least....

The chia Pet....they come in all sorts of varieties..take the Chia Frog for instance.. http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=chia+pet&um=1&ie=UTF-8
Chia frog
Start off by collecting the frog one of our popular reptiles declarative planters available. Great to add to ones collection for those of you that collect frogs for a hobby also great for kids that love frogs for a hobby. Mom's Request of Santa

Dear Santa,
I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned, and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor, sold 62 cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground, and figured out how to attach nine patches onto my Son's Boy Scout uniform with staples and a glue gun.
I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years.
Here are my Christmas wishes:
I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache after a day of chasing kids (in any color, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to carry a screaming four year old out of the candy aisle in the grocery store. I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy.
If you're hauling big ticket items this year, I'd like a car with fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.
On the practical side, I could use a talking son doll that says, "Yes, Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't fight, and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.
I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting, "Don't eat in the living room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range. Playdough pack, the stocking stuffer this year for mothers of preschoolers. It comes in three fluorescent colors and is guaranteed to crumble on any carpet making the In-laws' house seem just like mine.
If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.
If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family; or if my toddler didn't look so cute sneaking downstairs to eat contraband ice cream in his pajamas at midnight.
Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the chimney and come in and dry off by the fire so you don't catch cold.
Help yourself to cookies on the table, but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.
Yours Always,
Mom

Bunch of Punies!

Glitter Graphics & Comments

And boy...am I dragging! What a weekend....I am so exhausted, I honestly do not know how I am going to make it through the day....we picked up Max last night from Grandma's....we had only been home a couple of hours...before he started complaining with his right ear hurting...I had nothing to put in it...it was ten o'clock at night, and at that point, he wasn't complaining too badly...he had a shower, I warmed up a drop of olive oil and dropped it into his ear, then put in a cotton ball, thought we could make it till morning, then we would take him to the doctor...well, that wasn't to be...he was in so much pain, that the only alternative was to take him to the emergency room...hubster opted to call in to work this time, drive him to the E.R....since Aaron was already in bed asleep, had school the next morning, one of us had to stay home with him...so, hubby insisted that he be the one to take him....

As a Mom...that is tough for me to allow him to do...I feel, if one of my kids is that sick, then I should be the one to take them to the E.R....now hubster is a great dad and quite capable of taking him, but it still bugged me that he was firm in his decision that he should take him, I should stay home with Aaron....for some reason, our phone at home was out....we couldn't get a dial tone...totally dead.....so, he had to drive by his work anyway, to let them know he would not be in....so, he won that round! No way around him not being the one to take him.....

While he was gone with Max...of course, I paced, I worried, I stayed awake until he got home with him, which was around 1 a.m....Poor little guy had a double ear infection...both ears...pretty bad...so, he is now on the pink stuff, with codiene ear drops for the pain....I was up and down with him until about 3 a.m....so, I only slept from about 3 to 5 a.m...then I was up sick at my stomach...Hubster said now he doesn't feel well either.

We are just a bunch of punies....I tell ya!

Other than that...we had a great weekend.....Friday night, hubster and I went out for dinner...no where fancy, just Applebee's...but it was nice to just get out, alone together.
Saturday, I slept in a little....then we dressed and I went to get my mani/pedi...also got my hair trimmed/styled, as did hubster...we went to Toy's R Us...did some more shopping for Christmas....went to a sports bar afterwards for a drink and something to eat....
We did go out on the town...Saturday night...did not roll in until 4 a.m. Sunday morning.....we had a ton of fun...but, with Max being sick....being up all night with him...no sleep hardly at Saturday night....I am paying for it now.

I am too old for this shit!

Have a good week everybody!

Funny one liner.....kind of offensive to you sensitive people out there...read at your own risk!

What do the female reindeer do on Christmas Eve while the males are pulling Santa's sleigh?

The go into town and blow a few bucks.

TGIF!!!!

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend....I am so ready for it to begin...thankfully, I do not have to travel tonight....the in-laws are driving up and picking up Max...and the ex is in town to do some Christmas shopping....so, he is going to get Aaron off the bus...I guess there are no stores in his neck of the woods....idiot! But anyway, it keeps me off of the roads tonight...

Hubster and I have had a tension filled week, we have been short and out of sorts with each other...so, we need to have a little "us"time...he is taking me for dinner tonight, we hope to do some Christmas shopping...unfortunately, he has to work tonight..so, I hope he is rested up....because we really need this "us" time....

Tomorrow...I have my bi-weeky pampering appointment...for my manicure/pedicure...I may or may not work for a few hours...to make up for missing work earlier in the week when Max was sick...totally up to me...Hubster doesn't want me too...but, I hate being out the money. Especially so close to Christmas and four boys and relatives to buy for. His reasoning is..he can work half day of over time and make more money than I make for an entire day...which is good in one respect, but bad in another..the man never gets a break...he works 7 days a week, 3 rd shift and rolls along with hardly any sleep...which makes for a very mean, very grumpy father and husband....so, there are pros and cons....I would rather work, give him a break..

He wants to take me out "clubbing" tomorrow night...gives me a chance to dress up smoking hot....go out dancing, have some drinks...just have a good time...usually, we meet up with friends...tends to turn into quite the party...so, we will see....part of me wants to go...the other part....the old, tired woman part of me....does not.....It is cold out people...hubster's idea of taking me out, requires me to wear short skirt and heels.....therefore I freeze to death....why do women always have to suffer for the sake of beauty and looking sexy for their man....men don't have to do that...they can dress up and stay warm....not so with us women....oh, vanity....it will be the death of us..lol...

Anyway....I am finishing up....getting ready to leave work....I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend....

Friday Funny! Santa has to be a woman...why? Because...

Santa Claus has to be a woman because:

The vast majorities of men don't even think about selecting gifts until Christmas Eve and only go for a last-minute shopping spree.

For a he-Santa, there would be no reindeer because they would all be dead, gutted and strapped on to the rear bumper of the sleigh.

Even if the male Santa did have reindeer, he would inevitably get lost up there in the snow and clouds and then refuse to stop and ask for directions.

For a Santa man, there would be unavoidable delays in the chimney, where the Bob Vila-like Santa would stop to inspect and repaint bricks in the flue.

He would also need to check for carbon monoxide fumes in every gas fireplace, and get under every Christmas tree that is crooked to straighten it to a perfectly upright 90-degree angle.

Men can't pack a bag.

Men would rather be dead than caught wearing red velvet.

Men would feel their masculinity is threatened...having to be seen with all those elves.

Men don't answer their mail.

Men would refuse to allow their physique to be described even in jest as anything remotely resembling a "bowlful of jelly."

Men aren't interested in stockings unless somebody's wearing them.

Having to do the 'Ho Ho Ho' thing would seriously inhibit their ability to pick up women.

Finally, being responsible for Christmas would require a commitment.

Sorry to all of you guys out there...but this was too funny to not share with the ladies....

Santa's Bad Day!!!!!

A funny for you....

One particular Christmas season a long time ago, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip, but there were problems everywhere. Four of his elves got sick, and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule. Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her mom was coming to visit. This stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven knows where. More stress. Then when he began to load the sleigh one of the boards cracked, and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys. So, frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered that the elves had hidden the liquor, and there was nothing to drink. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider pot, and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw end of the broom. Just then the doorbell rang, and irritable Santa trudged to the door. He opened the door, and there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said, very cheerfully, "Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't it a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?" Thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Thursday 13........

(Graphic courtesy of Write from Karen)

Well...since I got such a great response from last week's Thursday 13....that little walk down memory lane, I thought I would do a part 2...Toy's and games from my childhood, that were some of my favorite toys, favorite childhood memories.
How many of these did you have?

1.) Dancerella Doll....

I had a lot of fun with this doll...until my brother gave it to the dog to play with...she never danced again after that.

2. ) Hello Kitty....

I loved anything Hello Kitty....you name it I had it....from a stuffed Hello Kitty, to notebooks, coloring books, shirts, socks, pens, lunch box....I was a Hello Kitty freak!

3. ) Little People...

I think I had the house and the airplane...maybe a tree house. I believe that this was the earliest memory of a toy I had...I was maybe 5 or 6....

4.) Smurfs...

Not only did I have just about every one of the figures, but I religiously watched the cartoon every single Saturday morning...I just loved Handy and Smurfette...

5.) Mrs. Beasley...from Family Affair, Do you remember that show?

I know...that doll was uglier than sin....but, I remember really loving her..as well as that little girl on the show, since she had one..I had one...I remember Mom giving her to me for my birthday...which is in September..I can remember taking her to the Christmas parade...sitting on top of my Moms Monte Carlo, covered with a blanket....ahh....sweet memories.

Now....let's move away from the "girly" stuff....incorporate some unisex toys...so that you guys might share in some of the memories...

6.) Pogo Stick...

Many a summer day was spent trying to master this thing...I could only bounce about 5 or 6 times, before falling off....my brother on the other hand...was quite good at it....I was never a very coordinated child.

7.) Flying turtle....

My brother and I used to have a blast with this thing....until one summer, he was riding it...I was peeved at him, because I wanted my turn...the little shit broke my darn toe with it...ran right over it...it was the fourth toe on my right foot...I think I was about 7, looked down and seen my toe dangling over the side of my foot, freaked the heck out, reached down, jerked it right back into place..lol..set the darn thing myself...lol.

8.) Atari....what a wonder that was....

Our Mom couldn't afford to get us one of these....but our cousins, who we played with all summer, our grandmother baby sat us while our Moms worked...well, they had one....we would fight over that thing....our favorite games of course were Donkey Kong, Pac Man and Frogger...by summers end, girlfriend here was kicking some Frogger and Pac Man butt....eventually, Mom got us a video game system for Christmas one year...it wasn't atari...can't quite recall the name of it....but it had like asteroids on it, couple of other games....

9.) Rubiks Cube...who didn't have one of these?

I never could solve the darn thing..came close a few times.....I remember my brother and I had a bet, to see who could solve thiers first...by summers end, I was at my wits end..so, I cheated....I took all the stickers off, changed them around to make it look like I solved it....boy, was my brother ticked when he found out....Sorry, Bro!

10.) Colorforms....
They had them for boys and girls....not sure what kind my brother had...Incredible hulk or something, but you get the picture...I think I had Hello Kitty, Smurfs and Stawberry Shortcake Colorforms...

11.) Spirograph....rainy day toy....loved this thing! It was a lot of fun to "draw" various pictures....I should try and find one for my kids now...eight year old would absolutely love it!

12.) Jaws game...another toy my brother and I fought over... came with a plastic shark with a spring-loaded jaw that snapped shut on a timer. The object was to use a small plastic gaff to remove as many small toy objects from the shark’s gullet as you could before the time ran out.

13.) Lastly...and I know, technically, this is not a toy..but this was a "shared" pasttime between my brother and I...reading this magazine.....

Mad magazine...we read every issue they had.....drove my Mom nuts...because she hated it...but, she would buy it for us...

Well....there you have it....I promise...this is the last walk down the toy memory lane...I honestly don't know if I could think of anymore....

So, tell me...which of these did you have?
