ONLY SIX COUPLES REMAIN.....DANCING WITH THE STARS RECAP.....

Last nights episode was packed with lots of great dancing...the six remaining couples danced both a ballroom dance and a Latin dance..giving us 12 excellent performances.

First to perform, were Helio and Julianne
dancing the Tango...Helio looked so dashing, did a wonderful job; although Len criticized him for not leading properly. Bruno declared the two of them to be "like thunder and lightning. Carrie Ann felt it was a nice twist on the Tango and she liked it. They scored 25 out of 30 for their first dance.
Their second dance, they danced the Samba...with this one, Helio just lit up the room. He really did an amazing job...Bruno and Carrie Ann were full of praise, yet I felt Len kind of crossed the line with his comment. He said, and I quote..."Just because you come from Brazil doens't necessarily mean that you're going to be good at the Samba. In the same way, just because you come from Texas doesn't mean to say you're going to be a good President." Yowza...he said he was joking, but man...what a way to win over the American public there Len...anyway, for their Samba, Helio and Julianne scored 27 out of 30..giving them a total for the night of 52 out of 60 points.

Next....we have Marie and Jonathan....
who for their first dance, danced the Quickstep....they totally did an amazing job...."They raised the roof" according to Bruno. When Marie gets it right, she gets it right! The technique, footwork and the posture were wonderful..Len commented that entertainment runs through Maries viens like Chianti runs through Bruno's. It totally had the most twists of all the dances she has thus far performed. For the Quickstep, Marie and Jonathan scored 28 out of 30 points. (Wow, hard to believe she has 8 kids)!

For their second dance, Marie and Jonathan danced the Cha Cha Cha..this dance was a little lackluster compared to their first...They put forth a good effort, but the judges felt that they had "peaked" earlier on. For thier second dance, they received a score of 24 out of 30, for a combined total for the night of 52 out of 60 points.

The third couple to dance, Mel B and Maxim....
for their first dance, they danced the Foxtrot...last week was perfection, but for their first dance last night, they were totally out of sync with their footwork...lacked the usual finesse that Mel B exhibits. Thier score...24 out of 30.

For their second dance, they performed the Paso Doble. With this dance, they made a total come back..kicking some serious bootie! It was passionate and aggressive at the same time...Bruno called her an aerenaline charged dominatrix....Len said It was A.O.K...it was so great, he didn't know if he could comment. They scored a 30 out of 30, bringing their overall score for the night to 54 out of 60...placing them in the lead for the night.

Jane and Tony were up next.....
....for their first dance, they perfomed the Quickstep...to Johnny Cash's Walk the Line...dedicating their performance to Johnny and June Cash..touching, to say the least....yet, kind of boring. It needed more excitement, more body contact, the footwork was kind of off...although, the technique was fine. I thought they did a good job, but I agree with one thing, her dress was terrible. It looked like it had been run through a shredder..not classy enough for a classy lady like Jane.
For their Quickstep, they received 24 out of 30 points.

For their second dance, they danced the Cha Cha Cha...it was very well executed and well placed, a very well done job...very sexy performance and Jane was totally rocking her second dress choice..she looked amazing...for their Cha Cha, Jane and Tony received 26 out of 30, for an overall score of 50 out of 60 points, placing them last in the competition.

Our fifth couple, Jennie and Derek....
..danced the Viennese Waltz for their first dance of the evening. Not a very good performance...Jennie actually took two steps back with how far she has come last night. There were a lot of broken lines, not consistent and not enough Viennese Waltz in their waltz. They scored 25 out of 30.

For their second dance, they performed the Rumba. This time, their performance was much, much better. The dance had beautiful lines, romance, excellent steps...very good, very satisfying performance. Len commented to Jennie that the only one that was not convinced she was a good dancer, was Jennie herself. They scored 28 out of 30, giving them a combined score of 53 out of 60.

Last to dance were Cameron and Edyta...
they were supposed to have danced the Quickstep for their first dance, but according to the judges, it was anything but the Quickstep. It was a little wild, a little out of control...Bruno stated, It was Mr . Flash in a mad dash, it was such a dash he forgot the steps...yet, they still scored well, with 24 out of 30 points.

For their second dance, they danced the Jive. It was absolutely fantastic...it had more kicks than a rodeo..with this dance, Cameron proved that he has become a really fine dancer...with the Jive, they scored 27 out of 30..with an overall score for the night, of 51 out of 60..placing them second from the bottom.

So, my peeps...who the heck is going home tonight? I honestly can't say...but if I had to guess, I would say Jane and Tony....but as last weeks elimination of Sabrina shows, nothing is a given..anything goes...anyone could get the boot tonight...guess it is totally up to the voters..did you vote? Who did you vote for?

Watch the elimination round tonight, 9 p.m., CBS...Grammy award winner LeAnn Rhimes will perform two songs. In addition to LeeAnn Rhimes, break dancing legend Crazy Legs and the Rock Steady Crew will also make an appearance.

I'll be watching, will you?

Dixiechick....out.
