Let's do this.....

Wow..what a show last night!

Last week on Dancing with the Stars...we seen the ousting of Medicine Woman, Jane Seymour....which really wasn't that great of a surprise...however, after last nights performances, anyone could go home tonight.

Of course, we all know the sad news from last week that Marie Osmond's father passed away....my condolences to her....but, will this affect the votes and keep her in the competition? Like I said, it could be anyone..so, I guess we will have to tune in tonight and see...

Back to last nights show..

Jennie and Derek started off the night... with a fairly good version of the Jive. Their dance was very lively and energetic, but Jennie was kind of limp, her arms were kind of dangly, posture was poor. Overall, the dance was definitely not good enough to get her in the semi-finals. For the Jive, they scored 24.
For their second dance, Jennie and Derek dance the Foxtrot. Jennie looks very lovely, very Old Hollywood; overall, Jennie improves greatly over the Jive, especially in the second half of her foxtrot. Len was really impressed, said her performance was much stronger, Carrie Ann commented that her posture was much better, but she needed to work on her chin...whatever that meant. Guess she didn't have it straight or something....and Bruno wasn't terribly impressed, although he did say Jennie looked like Veronica Lake, guess it had something to do with her hairstyle...even with a pep talk from Richard Simmons earlier in the show..Jennie still did not release her star power....For their Foxtrot...they scored 26, giving them a total of 50 for the night.

Cameron and Edyta are our second couple to perform.....for their first dance, they danced the Viennese waltz....the music they danced to was the theme from the Harry Potter movies....Cameron looked great, tux with tails, but was reamed by Len for not wearing a bow tie...Len said it was getting on his nerves, Cameron letting his bare chest show all the time...anything to get the vote, huh? Len did say his "fleckle" was good...whatever that means.
Overall, the judges loved the dance....Carrie Ann said his lines were good, his hold was good, she loved it. Bruno said that it was like a Majestic sweep with a gliding quality....good job. They scored 27 for their first round.
For their second dance...they danced the cha cha....it is noticeable that Cameron is finally beginning to reign in his crazy hands and tame down his hyperactivity...somewhat. With this cha cha...Cameron just wasn't smooth enough...he was a little stiff and wooden with his posture...Len said it was kind of like "painting by number"....Carrie Ann said his "form to form" moves need more work.
For their cha cha...they scored 24....giving them 51 out of 60 for the night.

Following Cameron and Edyta...we have our American Sweetheart..Marie and her partner Jonathan...
Even though her father died last week, Marie stated that the show must go on..that her father would want her to go on...she even quoted a passage from the Bible....that she felt her father meant for her to read....I don't remember the exact quote, but it had something to do with dancing....their first dance was the Rumba...Carrie Ann told Marie that when she does something, she does it well...but with the Rumba, she expected to see a little more aggression, more moves.....I too felt that their performance was a little stiff, very little emotion involved...Len kind of slams Marie for her age....that the Rumba was meant for a young couple, but they made it a sophisticated rumba, which was a nice tweak...Bruno, commends Marie's Mrs. Robinson attitude, but does agree that she needs to step up the difficulty of her routines. For their Rumba..they scored 24.
For dance number 2, Marie and Jonathan performed a very country Western-themed jive. It was a very competent solid performance. Jive is a fun dance, and Marie and Jonathan gave us fun. But..the judges felt that there was not enough Jive in the Jive...their score....25..giving them 49 for the night...placing them in lowest spot for the night and the competition.

For our final top two performers...we have left....Helio and Mel B....they have really stepped up their game and proven they are going to be going head to head in the finals...last night...the night definitely belonged to Helio and Julianne...Oh, my....they stopped traffic with both of their performances last night...

Julianne brought in her on "pit crew" to help out my favorite Brazilian race car driver and the effort was definitely worth it...it's as if he has been drafting, saving his energy for the push to the finals....last night, he made his move toward the finish line..He looked so dapper and handsome last night....I loved his second dance outfit...Julianne looked spectacular as well..they are such a handsome couple.....

Helio and Julianne danced the Paso Doble for their first dance....Spectacular! Helio definitely got his motor running to take the lead. Helio was sporting a matador style cape, and Len felt it was a nice touch...he definitely improved 100% on his performance last night compared to last week. Bruno said it was a very polished performance, mission accomplished! Carrie Ann liked the intensity and the attention to detail...I loved it..but that is totally a given...since I have such a crush on Helio and like, totally want him and Julianne to win this competition.
They scored a 27 for their Paso Doble....

Their second dance, photos that are pictured, was so fun! They do the Quickstep and all I can say is....Yowza!!!! The Quickstep is one of the hardest dances to do, but Helio nails it! Len said it was fantastic, Carrie Ann said it was everything and then some...Bruno said, "the finish line is in sight", explosive lift off, just incredible....Well done Helio and Julianne...for their Quickstep..they got a triple ten....giving them a total score for the evening of 57 out of 60...placing them in the lead....

Mel B and Maxim....our last couple....
They danced the Tango for their first dance...it was menacing, powerful....Bruno stated Mel B had a "Don't mess with me" attitude throughout the dance...Carrie Ann loved the "stalking" during the dance, but overall for her...it just was not up top, not totally convincing. Len felt all steps were precise...it was great! They earned a score of 27 for their Tango.
For dance 2...they performed the Mambo....Mel was fierce, passionate and intense throughout the dance. The judges loved it, they scored a 29, putting them in 2nd place with an overall score of 56 out of 60 for the evening.

Well...there you have it folks! My recap of last nights show. Excellent performances by everyone on the show...but we all know that that is not enough. You have to vote....did you? I did...I voted for Helio and Julianne 10 times....
Based on performances though...Marie had the worst last night, but I feel she may get the Sympathy vote, keeping her in the competition....Mel B had a stellar night, but if her prickly attitude continues, it might put the audience off enough to give her the boot. Cameron stays in only due to his fan base for his soap...his dancing just is not up to par in my opinion....

When it comes down to....I feel Helio, Mel B and Jennie should be in the finals....

What say You?????

Guess we will find out tonight..Tune in, 9 p.m., CBS..for the results show.
Gloria Estefan is once again scheduled to perform two songs...Conga off of the 1985 Primitive Love album from Miami Sound Machine and "A Bailar" from her latest album.

Dixiechick...out!
