My Nashville Weekend...

Well..I am finally getting around to posting about my "romantic" weekend get-a-way to Nashville, TN with my hubby....this is probably going to be a long post..so grab a drink..or two..relax...live vicariously through Dixie...or be bored to death...one or the other.

Now, My understanding on Friday, was that hubster had our entire weekend planned, hotel to stay in, everything arranged...So, when I got off of work, I was all excited, thinking of how romantic-less our lives had been as of late, and how fun it was going to be to have an entire weekend away, no kids...no responsibilities...just fun...shopping, sightseeing, drinking and some Lovin'! Whoo Hoo!

I hurried home to find the hubster in a horrible mood...just being a total ass....threatening to cancel our trip...said he had a bad feeling about it, what with the snow we had, etc...that maybe we should just stay home. Now, I tend to be argumentative at times, so...I started projecting the "bitchattude" toward him...."Fine, we will just stay home"....he wasn't packed, I wasn't packed...we had Aaron to drop off in Terre Haute anyway....he made me cry! So, I was ready to throw in the towel, just forget about it. Instead, I quickly changed my attitude, packed my things, he packed his, we grabbed the kid and left. We had words in the car, he pretty much told me, "It was over..the trip that is"...wasn't going to happen...we still had to drop Aaron off in Terre Haute, so we knew we had a two hour drive ahead of us. 20 minutes down the road, I found out why Hubster was being such a jerk! He had forgotten to take his medication (blood pressure/heart and thyroid)....and he also forgot to pack it. Greatttttt! Now I understood...see, when he doesn't take his meds, the demon within him arises and projects himself at me in a not so nice way....we stopped, refilled his prescriptions...he apologized to me....he took his meds and we continued on our merry little way.

We dropped Aaron off at his Fathers...around eight thirty that evening...and headed South. Hubster had done a complete 360 with his attitude and we started over. The further South we got, the snow disappeared the weather started to warm up a little. Our moods were greatly improved. This is when I found out, he didn't make reservations anywhere for us to stay..he got busy, doing other things that day, didn't get around to it...I was like, Holy hell, man..where are we going to stay...he figured we would play it by ear..there were sure to be plenty of really nice places to stay...so, I had my reservations..but, was like...ok...we will see.
It was about ten at night, we decided to stop for a bite to eat, when we reached the wonderful little town of Evansville, Indiana...at of all places, a Denny's...

Boy, talk about some nasty, nasty food...the restaurant itself wasn't much better..the place was filthy, the waitress was filthy..the coffee was absolutely horrible...I can not stand to see that wonderful beverage, that is coffee, defaced in the manner that this particular restuarant defaced it. Unbelievable! I wanted to speak to the manager, but Hubster wouldn't let me...I used to manage a restaurant and I was appalled at the condition that this one was in...but, hubster didn't want to be embarrassed, so he just paid the check and we left....Denny's...I will never, ever eat at your vile filthy restaurant again.
As we traveled out of Evansville, crossed the river into Kentucky..hubster asked if I had remembered to pack my swimsuit...I mentally went over the items in my head...sexy, slutty club outfit..check...lingerie...check...sightseeing outfit...check...outfit to wear home Sunday...check...swimsuit...oops...no check...

So, what "romantic" weekend away would not be perfect without a trip to the local "Wal-Mart"..seriously, hubby could not let me wait to get one in Nashville..we had to go to Wal mart....In Kentucky...."Just grab one off the rack"..just for the hotel..of which we had no idea of...for the hot tub, whirlpool, jacuzzie..whatever this "ghost hotel" may have....also, I knew I needed to get ear plugs....Ear plugs, you ask? On a romantic weekend get a way, whatever for? Skeet shooting...duck hunting...ummm, no..had you there for a minute...no, I needed ear plugs because hubster snores...loudly....like there is a damn frieght train coming through the room... loud...I knew I was in for a long night, little sleep...so I opted to get these $12 mold to your ear, ear plugs...I thought they would work perfectly...I picked out my swimsuit, some bath stuff, some new underwear, hubby grabbed a couple things, we headed to the register. I kid you not..."The woman that was our cashier... she was like Sue Johannson...

the sex therapist from the Oxygen network...because she proceeded to make a comment on every single thing I bought...telling hubby, wow...look at the sexy stuff she is buying for you...looks like you two are going to have some fun tonight...seriously, ya'll...it was hysterical...I started to ask her what type of sex toys she might recommend...now, if you recall, I had purchased a 2 piece swimsuit, a pair of lacy underwear and some ear plugs...how the hell is that sexy? Hubby really had her going, when he told her he was taking me to meet my other lover...that he was buying those items for me to wear for my other lover in front of him...Bwuhahahaha! You should have seen her face...priceless..she shut the heck up real fast.

We left Wal Mart and headed out of Kentucky into Tennessee...we arrived in Nashville around 2 a.m....hubby drove around for a while...and decided to stop at the Country Inn and Suites...seriously, I thought? It looked o.k..from the outside...
, but wasn't exactly the kind of place I had in mind for a romantic stay...I was thinking of a place like Sybaris....now, I don't know if there was a Sybaris in Nashville, but that is what I had in mind...

this is what I got..

We opted to get the room for just one night...then on Saturday...we would try to find a place with a jacuzzi, more romantic..you know? I knew then, I wouldn't need the bathing suit...oh, well. We proceeded upstairs to the room....got a bath...got settled in for the night....we spent an enjoyable hour together, decided it was time to get some sleep....while hubby was in the shower, I pulled out the ear plugs...I had to mix two puddy like compounds together, roll them into a ball, stick them in my ear, flaten them out, leave them in for ten minutes..."to cure"..the instructions said....during that time, they were supposed to mold the shape of your inner ear, you pull them out, trim off the excess, then put them back in..they were supposed to reduce outer noise by 25 decibals..or something like that...I dozed off, was awaken half an hour later, by hubsters snoring..OH, MY GOD...it was unbearable...The $12 earplugs sucked ass...they didn't work...I was exhausted..it was almost five in the morning....I could not sleep...Hubby finally got up, went and slept in the car...I got two hours of sleep.

This was not how I wanted our "romantic" weekend to start out...arguing over snoring...him sleeping in the car...he wasn't mad..it's just very frustrating that we can never sleep together. I swear, he has Sleep Apnea..I believe I posted about it before..but, he won't get it checked out. So, it makes it difficult for us to sleep together...so much for our romantic weekend..thus far..

Well...the boss just walked in...better actually get back to work...

Stay tuned for part 2....it gets better...seriously, you will want to hear the rest...
Saturday was filled with shopping and a night out at an "adult" club...
